Long Live SG: Two And A Half Updates

Well, can't really say all these is SG related but it is related to the SG family, so read up, folks!

One: Binnie Goes To Berlin
...for BIFF (Berlin International Film Festival) for Come Rain, Come Shine. Well, no surprise there but first he has to obtain special permit to do so since these are overseas activities. In this regard, the ROK Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will be submitting a letter of recommendation to the MMA (Military Manpower Administration) justifying the reasons for him to go abroad from the 15 to the 23rd of March.

So if all goes well he'll be flying to Berlin on the 15th and attend the festival's official events, media interviews etc. on the 17th. He'll be entering the military on March 7 to undergo 5 weeks of basic training in Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do before a specific assignment is to be assigned.

Two: Lee Jong Suk Gets Accepted Into Honkuk University
Lee Jong Suk (23) will be enrolling in the university's Film Department as a [Year] 2011 student. He participated in the entrance exam last November and it is reported that the university's targeted enrollment was 2220 students out of 21 268 people who took part in the exam.

And a Half: Not a ground breaking news...except there will be OSKA socks!!!
Nevermind the Oska is spelled differently. If I have this I don't think I would want to wear shoes, 'cause I'll be busy showing off me socks!

Lee Jong Suk's Photoshoot And Interview For Elle Girl

Speaking of closure, at least Tae Ssun got his, albeit a sad one. He's still young, and I hope he meets a nice guy who makes him happy someday.

Meanwhile in real life, Lee Jong Suk is rockin' his red hairdo. And those paddington boots! Looks just like the one he wore during the fisherman episode, haha. During the photoshoot, a short interview was conducted, and he talks of the ups and downs of his life before achieving success as an actor, his hobbies and SG co-star Yoon Sang Hyun.
He that compared to chillin' at club, he prefers to hang out at a coffee shop, having a good chat with his friends.

On a love life, he said, "When you're in a relationship, you tend to be more childish." He also mentioned that Yoon Sang Hyun is one of coolest guys he ever met. "Even if he's not on camera, he helps you out with your lines. And when the crew gets tired, he jokes around on set and keeps the atmosphere cheerful." Lee Jong Suk was all praises for Yoon Sang Hyun.

This one has an interesting color palette:
A cow suit and barely there eyeliner. Interesting.

The Bubble Kiss
On one of SG's famous signature kisses, Lee Jong Suk said: "When I saw the scene, I unconsciously let out a sigh. It's something even a guy's heart will skip a beat to.

This look may seem pretty boring compared to the rest, until you realize...what the heck is he wearing? Are those leggings with his three quarter pants? Or some freakin' long socks?
Lee Jong Suk's fresh charm and sincere interview will be available in February's issue of Elle Girl.

SG News Today

Daily Bites of our favorite drama, Secret Garden (Updated!):

Newsflash #5: Another poster's account of The Market scene.

The dialogue transript:
Joo Won: What exactly did you do to cry like this? Why are you crying, why?!!
Ra Im: Then why are you buying such expensive fruit. Why don't you have the money? Why?
Joo Won: You met my mom? That's it, isn't it? She came again, didn't she? (hc: I think they repeated/NG this line many times, a few variations but similar meaning)
Ra Im continues to cry.
Joo Won: Still not stopping? Continuously crying uglily like this, don't you know how annoying it is? *Puts on the scarf for her*

This scene was shot for an hour.

Newsflash #4: This scene refers to Newsflash #2 below, I think.
Scene: Ra Im is selecting some fruits at the market, and Joo Won comes over and treats her in his usual chadonam way. A rude but sweet scene.
Msg from poster:
The same scene was shot many times; my mind is filled with Joo Won's lines and I can't remember them all (sorry guys...)

To sum it up, it's about Joo Won treats Ra Im brashly: "You met my mom right? You're already ugly and yet you cry, so annoying" etc.

Ra Im gets cold, and JW took off his scarf and mittens, hands it to her and says: "I will handle it, (so) don't think about anything else and have a good night's sleep.

He personally puts on the scarf and mittens on her. (More chadonam lines, such as, "You know this is high-class stuff right? Remember who much this costs!" etc. etc.)

Ahh ottoke? I'm still in a dreamy mode...Hyun Bin is really really...daebakㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Our couple has been shooting till late at night now. But there seems to be one scene left. According to the director, there is still one scene left to shoot.

(He) Should be exhausted right now, but (he) still personally comes up to greet the fans. So cool! (i.e moshida)

Today, I'm mesmerized by him again. I wanted to share this experience with you all, haha.

Newsflash #3: Lee Jong Suk sends his New Year Wishes
"Through SG, I'm blessed to get to know you all. Please support and love Tae Ssun. In 2011 New Year's Day, I hope that your 2011 will be energetic and hopeful like a rabbit's (hc: because this year is the Year of the Rabbit). Love you guys. Hail the New Year!"
Newsflash #2: Yesterday (3/1/2011); around 9:00 PM
The message:
Ha Ji Won is now shooting at Gongdeok Market...
They say they're shooting, and I was kicked out..
Don't know what they're shooting, ahhh....curious, so curious...

Newsflash #1: SG Writer confirms of a happy ending.
Yesterday (3/1/2011), Writer Kim seemed to have made some rounds at dc, and because of the numerous predictions of the show having a sad ending, she left a message at her Twitter* (the Chi trans say Weibo, but don't think she has one) account. The content includes:

1) Ra Im, Joo Won, Oska and Seul; these two couples will have a forever ever after, so I hope everyone can give their support.
2) Please don't make me a killer, people!

The Face Behind Tae Ssun's Voice

Words From My Heart -Len
If you read the post I did about Secret Garden's trivia some time back, you'd be aware that the actor who plays Tae Ssun, Lee Joon Suk does not actually sing in the show, as his voice wasn't deemed entrancing enough to lure Oska. The actually singer is a newbie in the kpop world that goes by the name of Len (or Lenny).
His first mini album's cover, released in March 2010

I don't know about you, but if I were a singer and my voice were used like that, I think I'd be kinda sad. But hopefully through this "gig" he'll gain more recognition, if not a widespread one. It's certainly not hard to become his fan, all it took was a few minutes listening to one of his tracks and I was a goner.

I like this one too, it's sunnier and a bit more pop-ish:
Baby Love -Len (feat. B.cruz)
What can I say? Hmm...a lot. Today I spent the whole morning listening to his works and I'm completely captivated. His voice really moved me, and although I don't understand much Korean, I sensed what the words behind the song meant. That's how emotive his voice is.
As of now, he has just released his second mini album on 22nd November entitled Winter Story. So be sure to check it out!

This is his PV for Winter Story:

He plays the piano and sings live extremely well too, no stiffness in his voice whatsoever:
Song Title: "Don't Go, Don't Go"

A Post Dedicated To Tae Ssun

I have been thinking for a while now...could he actually be NOT gay? He could have said that just to scare Oska off so that he won't pursue him anymore, plus the fact that his mom had an affair and because of that his dad walked out. He also left shortly afterwards. Due to that, he doesn't trust women. If you think about it like that...it's plausible, no?

Folks at Baidu have a soft spot on him, even more so when it was announced the that he might be romancing Oska. While I don't think Oska will actually for fall for him, that doesn't strike off the possibility of having a scandal (most likely due to misunderstanding of some sort).

My laptop has been full of Lee Jong Suk's pics for a while now, and I think it's time to let it go; he looks so cute in every one of them it's a sin not to share it:

I can only conclude that this "funeral pic" sketch of him must have been the work of an anti-fan...(seriously though, I'm only joking, it's a very nice sketch)

Lee Jong Suk and his aegyo expression~

Already a model at the age of sixteen, I guess it's no surprise Lee Jong Suk's so photogenic. He's also an independent guy, as he has been staying apart from his family since high school due to studies.

Presenting...the Korea's cutest emo-est fisherman:

6 Things You Might Not Know About Secret Garden

This are some of the interesting facts I know about this A-MAZ-ING kdrama, along with a thousand other useless trivias I have stored in my brain. Just for your amusement:

1) The actor who plays Han Tae Ssun, the free spirited singer, DOES NOT actually sing in the drama. The voice belongs to a new k-singer name Lenny.

2) Ha Ji Won's body measurements: 33-23-33

3) Originally, Jay Park was suppose to do Han Tae Ssun, but the production decided that he wasn't suitable for the character's image they wanted to portray.

4) Kim Sa Rang is Miss Korea 2000. Although she didn't win the Miss Universe title in 2001, she did get the Best National Costume award (featuring a hanbok).

5) Her stats: 34-24-34 (I'm now obsessed with numbers, thanks to Joo Won).

6) Lee Jong Suk (who plays Tae Ssun) has been modelling since he was 16 years old.

Chloe Says: Talking about the cast, it's sad that Phillip Lee gets even less air time than Lee Jong Suk. His role doesn't seem terribly important at the moment.
Also, I'm soooo greatful Jang Hyuk dropped this for Midas.
Sure, he would have nailed it, but it would only be a Thank You No.2 for him, whereas this drama showed us a side of Hyun Bin we've never seen before. Three cheers for Binnie!
